Stop Denying Cause of Childhood Autism
August 22, 2006
Raheem Hosseini reports on the requirements for immunizations in To Vaccinate or Not (Telegraph, 8-16).
Mr. Hosseini cites a "much debated link between these vaccines and the spike in childhood autism cases," but dismisses a connection by saying that, "so far, no direct correlation has been established between vaccines and childhood autism, nor have the factors responsible for autism been scientifically documented."
My question is: How long are we going to throw up our hands and say we just don't know where all the autism is coming from?
The autism rate in 20 years went from one in 10,000 to one in every 166 children, including one in every 80 boys at the exact same time we dramatically increased the number of mercury-containing vaccines in the childhood schedule.
If you go to the CDC web site, it'll tell you that studies show no link between using the second deadliest element on Earth in vaccines and autism. What would you expect them to say? They approved, mandated and vigorously promoted vaccines with mercury.
It's highly unlikely they'd announce they'd exposed children to unconscionable levels of a known neurotoxin with devastating results.
If Mr. Hosseini wants to see the evidence he should review the work of Dr. Mady Hornig, Columbia University, Dr. Thomas Burbacher, University of Washington, or Dr. Boyd Haley, University of Kentucky. They're just a handful of the growing number of independent scientists whose work shows mercury use in vaccines was a terrible medical mistake.
